The Speakin7 Method
A 7-month path to real conversation. Read first, then listen, then speak until it feels natural.
The core idea
Conversational ability comes from seeing, hearing, and using the same language thousands of times. Speakin7 gives you real books and real audio in parallel, then lets you practice with AI characters so your brain connects spelling, grammar, and sound naturally. The plan below tells you exactly how to use the app.
Build reading + start speaking
- Read 4–5 books in your target language.
- Tap every sentence you don't fully understand.
- Listen to each sentence 2–3 times while you read.
- Tap 'Explain grammar' and take notes on patterns you see often.
- Start short Speak sessions with easy personas (barista, shopper) to practice basic replies.
Read + listen + speak
- Keep reading new books at the next level up.
- Go to Listen for books you've already finished.
- Follow the target-language subtitles first.
- Only reveal English when you're stuck.
- Speak 10 minutes a day with different characters to build reaction speed.
Intensive listening + conversation
- Spend most of your time in Listen.
- Re-listen to the same episodes until you can follow comfortably.
- Try to understand before revealing English.
- Review old AI explanations when you notice new patterns.
- Move Speak to the center of your routine: longer conversations, harder personas, no translation.
Why speaking matters
Reading and listening build understanding, but speaking builds fluency. When you talk with an AI character, you are forced to form sentences in real time, fix mistakes, and react to new information. Start small in month one, then make Speak the main event by month seven.
Start with reading or speaking
The best first step is to open a book and read one page, or try a quick conversation with a barista or shopper. Tap any sentence that puzzles you.
