Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Speakin7 website, app, and services (collectively, the “Service”), operated by Speakin7 (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Accounts and eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You may sign up with an email address and password or through Google OAuth. Google accounts do not have a Speakin7 password and must sign in through Google.

2. Membership and billing

• Speakin7 is a paid membership service. New accounts begin with a 3-day trial. A valid payment card is required to start the trial.
• If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your membership automatically continues at the then-current rate and bills monthly through Stripe.
• You may cancel at any time. Cancellation stops future billing; you keep access through the end of your current paid period.
• All fees are non-refundable unless required by law or we determine otherwise in our sole discretion.

3. AI explanations and usage packs

• Your membership includes a limited number of AI grammar explanations per 24-hour period. If you exceed the included limit, you may purchase an additional explanation pack.
• Audio listening includes a daily sentence allowance. If you exceed the allowance, you may purchase an additional audio pack.
• Packs are billed through Stripe at the price shown at the time of purchase. Pack purchases are final and non-refundable.

4. Acceptable use

• Use the Service only for lawful, personal language-learning purposes.
• Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, automate, or abuse the Service, including AI or audio features.
• Do not share, resell, redistribute, or publicly perform any book content or audio generated through the Service.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules or that engage in fraudulent payment activity.

5. Intellectual property

The Service, its design, code, trademarks, and original content are owned by Speakin7. Reading content is sourced from third-party works licensed for use within the Service. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Service for personal language learning.

6. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. AI explanations, translations, and audio are generated automatically and may contain errors. We do not guarantee fluency or any specific learning outcome.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Speakin7’s liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if no payment was made.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new effective date and notify you of material changes through the Service or by email. Continued use after the changes means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
