1. Information we collect

• Account information: email address and authentication details when you sign up, sign in, or use Google OAuth.
• Reading data: language preference, book progress, page bookmarks, and selected sentences to power the reading and listening experience.
• Usage data: counts of AI grammar explanations and audio sentences played, used for free-tier limits and billing.
• Device and log data: browser type, device type, IP address, and error logs to help us keep the Service secure and reliable.
• Payment information: we do not store full payment card details. Payments are processed by Stripe, and we only retain subscription status, billing history, and related identifiers.

2. How we use your information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the reading and listening features.
• Sync your progress and settings across devices.
• Enforce usage limits and process payments.
• Send account-related emails such as confirmations, password resets, and billing notices.
• Respond to support requests and fix bugs.

3. AI and audio processing

When you request a grammar explanation or tap “Listen to sentence,” the selected sentence is sent to our AI providers through the Lovable AI Gateway. We do not send your name, email, or account information with these requests. Audio and explanation responses may be cached so you can replay them without extra cost.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use browser local storage to remember your theme, language preference, and reading progress when you are not signed in. When you sign in, we use session cookies managed by our authentication provider to keep you logged in securely.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us run the Service, such as:

• Lovable Cloud / Supabase — authentication, database, and cloud storage.
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
• OpenAI / Google — text-to-speech and grammar explanations via the Lovable AI Gateway.

6. Data retention

We keep your account and reading data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable time, except where we are required to keep it for legal or billing purposes.

7. Your choices

• You can update your language and theme preferences in Settings.
• You can sign out or delete your account by contacting us.
• You can manage cookies through your browser settings.

8. Children’s privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new effective date at the top of the page and notify you of material changes through the Service or by email.
